Chapter 8 guide update
There are multiple documents, specifications and guidelines to be considered when deploying Chapter 8 reflective safety markings on vehicles, and with a wide range of products available it can be confusing to choose the right material for your vehicle fleet.
As active members of the industry voice for reflective material manufacturers, REMA, PVL has assisted in the production of a new guideline document to help you understand how the relevant guidelines and materials should be interpreted and to select the most appropriate materials for your vehicle fleet.
The REMA Vehicle Conspicuity group have updated and released the REMA best practice guide to Chapter 8 and ECE104 markings and materials. This replaces all previous versions immediately.
What changed
The most significant change is to reflect the increased material performance requirements of the updated Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual. Materials now should meet class R3B (typically this is high grade microprismatic material).
Find the list of suitable materials highlighted in yellow in the table below.
The original document (PDF) can be accessed and downloaded from the REMA website or we have duplicated it on our online shop VehicleChevrons.com.
