PVL’s CEO shares successful career advice with the next generation at Collyer’s College

PVL have been collaborating with Collyer’s College in Horsham on their Employability Programme for a number of years.

Last December, PVL’s CEO Nick Broom took part in a Q&A session with students, focusing on employability. During the session hosted by Deputy Principal Steve Martell, Nick answered questions about the economy post-COVID19, personal branding and what he is looking for when employing young people.

Back in March, students learned about Psychometric Testing during a session where Nick explained how to analyse the results in their detailed personal reports.

The innovative Employability Programme at Collyer’s has been uniquely designed by the college to help students into the world of work with the help of taught sessions, workshops, trips and a host of inspiring special guests.

Nick shares successful career advice

Nick shared thoughts about his career path and the experience gained over the years, covering areas including management, importance of people skills, turning creative ideas into action, working abroad and having an entrepreneurial aptitude for creating business opportunities.

Steve Martell said:

“It was really kind of Nick to give up so much of his valuable time to prepare for, and take part in, the Q&A session with our keen students. Over the years Nick has been incredibly supportive of our careers work at Collyer’s and is genuinely passionate about helping the next generation.”

Steve Martell, Deputy Principal

Nick commented:

“I thoroughly enjoyed the session and hope that the students got something useful from it too. I was impressed with the students, who asked great questions and were all really engaged. I think this course is an excellent idea and it’s great to see it has gone from strength to strength.”
