We are delighted to announce that PVL’s CEO, Nick Broom, is a shortlisted finalist in the national Growing Business Awards 2019 in the category Entrepreneur of the Year.
PVL has continued to deliver consistent growth designing and manufacturing specialist life-saving vehicle livery for UK and international fleets. We are very proud of this success and entered this award category to recognise Nick, our customers, supply chain partners and staff for their key contribution in this journey.
Nick Broom, CEO – PVL UK
It takes great leadership and business acumen to turn entrepreneurial vision into new products and services. Nick started PVL back in 1999, recognising the need for an innovative manufacturer of high-visibility reflective safety markings for vehicles. The UK was reviewing the safety markings used on its emergency services fleets, and new designs were being considered to move away from the traditional ‘jam sandwich’ approach. Nick was keen that PVL took a leading role in developing these new requirements and immersed himself in the standards and trade bodies that were undertaking the materials research to take new highly reflective ‘Battenberg’ designs forward.
PVL provides vehicle safety markings to over 55% of the UK emergency services fleets.
PVL has grown to become the largest manufacturer of retroreflective livery kits to the UK’s emergency services and has expanded this success to international customers in Europe, the Middle East and beyond. The business has also extended its capabilities to include corporate branding for commercial vehicle fleets, wayfinding signage and architectural refurbishment. The business is now a key influencer in the way organisations globally present themselves to maximise impact and personal safety, with a mission to exploit the visual impact of every surface, static or mobile.
PVL developed and manufactures livery for ambulance fleets in Abu Dhabi and Qatar.
We focus on building successful long-standing business relationships, and in support of growth in export business, have set-up an international office and distributors to offer local knowledge and service. PVL now has official distributors and partnerships covering the Middle East, Belgium, USA, Australia, Algeria and the Nordics.
PVL is based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex with nationwide fleet livery support.
Nick also recognises the importance of #TeamPVL and has created the right culture in making employees feel valued and empowered to deliver their roles. Communicating a clear vision is key to his employment engagement strategy and he leads by example with an open-door policy and strong work ethic.
Through his energy, determination and attention to detail, Nick has successfully developed PVL to become a market leader. He has recently been awarded Business Person of the Year and Business of the Year at the Gatwick Diamond Business Awards 2019 and we wish him the best of luck to continue this recognition at a national level in the Growing Business Awards 2019. The winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony taking place on Wednesday 27 November in The Pavilion at the Tower of London.
